Although the ingredients are almost the same in both products, the ratio of oils differs considerably.  The Face Butter is a much richer product and the essential oils are at a lower percentage. The body butter is a lighter, more spreadable product with a different make up of essential oils. You can use them interchangeably however they have been designed for purpose. 

We offer an all natural product with no added fillers and water. As we don’t dilute the tallow any more than is absolutely necessary,  it is harder under cold conditions and does takes a little getting used to. We could make it easy for you by turning it into a lotion by adding water or addition oil fillers but oil and water need an emulsifier and preservatives to mix. Adding an emulsifier would dilute the healing effect of our products and contradict our name Zero Bullshit. 

As soon as the butter reaches body temperature it will turn in to a soft, spreadable easy application and will pull into the skin within minutes. Some customers put the closed tin in the bath with them or in the sun on a windowsill before use. As soon the weather warms up the product will become soft and spreadable on its own. It takes a little getting used to but we assure you will feel the difference and the benefits and will get used to using a natural product that is temperature sensitive.    

Fortunately, there are several steps we can take to promote a healthy balanced skin microbiome. 

• Gentle Cleansing, opt for mild, pH-balanced cleansers that do not strip the skin of all its natural oils.  Use soap, shampoo and shaving foam that is free of preservatives and sodium lauryl sulfates and perfumes.
• Moisturise with a natural Tallow Skin Food, its all-natural fat profile is an almost identical match to the skin’s sebum. With no artificial preservatives it will feed the skins microbiome working like a probiotic for the skin. Even with its naturally moderate antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that help keep harmful pathogens at bay. It can also be used as a natural deodorant, while supporting a healthy skin microbiome.
• Limit Antibiotic and Antimicrobial and Steroid use: Use judiciously and only when prescribed by a healthcare professional.

Everyone has their own body care ritual there is no right or wrong way, however we suggest you scoop a teaspoon amount of Body Butter onto the palm of your hands. Rub hands together to activate the fats and bring to body temperature. Then rub all over body. For men with a lot of body hair, pat the butter all over the body and then rub in.  Similarly for the Face Butter scoop a half teaspoon into the palm of your hands rub hands together to activate the fats and bring to body temperature then apply all over the face.   For best result, allow for 5 minutes so that butter has a chance to absorb.

Yes, Zero BS is a proven anti inflammatory for the skin. Clove oil is a natural analgesic (numbing agent) The healing balm should bring temporary relief to swelling, burning and itching caused by haemorrhoids.To apply first wash your hands and apply a  liberal amount onto your index finger insert finger into the anus to spread healing balm to the inflamed area remove finger and knyp! ( squeeze inwards).  Don’t forget to wash your hands after.No sharks are harmed in the process which is the main ingredient for most haemorrhoid treatments.

Yes absolutely! As our butters and balms are made with edible ingredients you can absolutely use them on mouth ulcers and the healing balm is very effective. To apply: With clean hands use a facial tissue to dry the affected area then take a small amount 2ml of healing balm and rub onto infected area. Within minutes the clove oils will dull the pain and the tallow and tea tree will go to work soothing the sore.

We strive to be as environmentally friendly as possible and will continue to do better. Currently our tins are biodegradable and recyclable and our cellophane wrapping is biodegradable when buried.

Pharmaceutical Grade Castor Oil is derived after the first pressing (cold-pressing) castor seeds which preserve the medical qualities it naturally possesses. It is a hexane-free Castor Oil.

Our Zinc Oxide is manufactured using the French Process it is the purest form of Zinc Oxide with no nanoparticles.

Currently we get our supply of grass fed free range beef tallow from a Halal certified supplier using the NIHT Halal Body certification and the cows come from a Halal certified abattoir and are slaughter Halal. However at the moment our company is not Halal certified. We are in the process of building our new factory and once our factory is up and running we will get our own certification in our new space. We do not recommend combining other products with our products. Not because of anything sinister but rather because you will not be able experience the full benefits that you should be receiving from our products alone. Our products are packed with natural food grade vitamins not the petroleum based laboratory made vitamins that you are currently using. So we urge you to give our products a chance. Within one week you should see a noticeable difference to your skin. Of course this is your personal choice and everyone's skin journey is a very personal one. But we now have both the scientific and anecdotal evidence from hundreds of customers who have thrown away their expensive and commercial products and switched to a back to basics routine that is powered by nature and backed by science.

We use a very small amount of essential oils, less than 0.5% of mostly fynbos oils. So the short answer is yes it is safe. But some people have concerns about essential oils during the first trimester. We do offer a product called Basic that is EO free. Please note that this is a personal choice and any concerns can be addressed with our Basic product.

Our hair product can be used for all types of hair. It can be used as a leave in conditioner, a deep scalp and root treatment. It can be also used to lock dreads and used as a moulding wax or even works like a type of argon oil to relax the frizz after a wash. It all depends on how it is applied, it will not take long to work it out for your own type of hair.

Yes you can. Allow the product to absorb before applying makeup. We have a number of make up artists who use a small amount of the healing balm as a foundation before applying the makeup as it allows for better adherence and longer lasting makeup
